Meet The Team: Romaine

What is your “title” at M&G?

Assistant Store Manager at our Bleecker location.

Take us through a day in the life at M&G in your shoes. Do you have any routines or rituals you find important?

I observe all our customers to learn what is working and what isn’t. I love taking a walk around the store and seeing how the store is set up. I’m able to merchandise the store in a way that would keep my regular customers coming back and help attract new customers.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

The Customers. I love that I’m able to connect and inspire each and everyone that walks through the door. Also, I love the stacking midi rings combine with a freshly done manicure.

What’s the most challenging thing about your job?

Not being able to help a customer with a specific item that they came into the store for. But I’m a born and raised New Yorker, so I always try to refer them to another place that would help their needs more better.

What’s one thing that surprised you in your path up until now?

One thing that has surprised me so far is that I’m patient! (ha!) Being patient and having the ability to listen without the intention to respond isn’t easy because I swear I have an answer for everything. I’ll never forget that someone once told me,  “listening can be better than talking.”

If you could have coffee with one person who would it be & why?

Will Smith!  I think he has such a beautiful spirit. I just want to crack jokes with him and tell him about the time when I was younger and I lied and told my friends he was my uncle.

What do you wanna be when you grow up?

I want to be a Midwife and deliver babies.

Other than fashion, what other things inspire you or are you passionate about?

What inspire me is doing something everyday even if it’s small, that could either have a positive impact on my life or another person life. I love helping others and being resourceful.

Tell us something weird about yourself.

I love to put hot sauce on my avocado.
